Visit Old Town Boutique District
The Old Town Boutique District is located in the historic 18th century port of Alexandria, Virginia – just across the Potomac River from Washington, DC and the National Harbor Resort. No matter where you are in the Capitol Region, a great shopping excursion to the Boutique District is just minutes away.
The Boutique District stretches from the banks of the Potomac River to the King Street Metro – two blocks wide and eleven blocks long. It is conveniently close to the water taxis at the City Dock or the King Street Metro. If you come by car, park in one of our many affordable lots or use the ample street parking. The free King Street trolley can easily whisk you from one end of Old Town to the other. Or, enjoy the easy stroll between our charming boutiques.
Directions
From Reagan Airport, McLean or Washington, DC (North)
Take the George Washington Parkway South toward Mount Vernon. Turn right or left on Cameron Street for access to shops on King Street and the side streets.
From Arlington, Virginia
Take Route 1 South toward Richmond and Alexandria. Turn left (East) on King or Prince Streets for access to shops on King Street and the side streets.
From Fairfax, Tyson’s Corner, Virginia or Montgomery County, Maryland
Take the Outer Loop of I-495/Capitol Beltway to Exit 377 (Route 1 North toward Old Town Alexandria). Take Route 1 North and then go right (East) on King Street.
From National Harbor, Prince George’s, Maryland and points north of Washington
Take I-95/395/Capitol Beltway south across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Immediately after crossing the bridge, take the Church Street exit and go left (north) at the traffic light onto Washington Street. Go right (east) on Prince Street or left (west) on Cameron Street to access shops on King and the side streets.
Metro
Take the Blue or Yellow lines to King Street Station and either walk east along King Street or utilize the free Old Town Trolley.*King Street Metro will be closed May 25th - September 2nd for reconstruction and upgrades. Check here for alternative travel options during the improvements.
Water Taxi
From National Harbor, take the Water Taxi to the Alexandria City Dock. The Boutique District begins dockside and stretches eleven blocks westward, between Cameron and Prince Streets. Pick up the free Old Town Trolley along King Street or at City Hall.

Departs from King Street Metro and from Waterfront (King and Union) every 10, 30 and 50 minutes past each hour.
Traveling towards King Street Metro Station, the stops are as follows (all along King Street): Union, Lee, Royal, St. Asaph, Columbus, Patrick, Fayette, Peyton, Diagonal, Metro Station.
Traveling toward the Potomac, the stops are: King St. Metro, Diagonal, Peyton, Fayette, Patrick, Columbus, St. Asaph, Royal, Lee, Union.
Metro
King Street Station is located along the blue and yellow lines. From there you may walk or board the trolley.
Parking
The city owns and operates several parking lots and garages around Old Town Alexandria.
Parking Meters
Generally on King Street and one block North and South (perpendicular to King). 2 Hour limit, $2.00 for 2 hours. Accepts dimes and quarters only. 8am – 9pm.
Residential Zoned Parking
Generally more than one block off King Street, where there are no meters. Non- residents (i.e. those without an Alexandria zoned parking sticker) may park up to 2 hours.
